I have an old military Remington Rolling Block to identifie. On the left side of the stock of the stick(?) (crosse in french), the number 2713 (http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/831/image75p.jpg). In the top of the stick, the numer 24 (http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/6690/image76s.jpg).
The tang is marked: "REMINGTONS ILION N.Y. U.S.A. PAT MAY 3D NOV 15 TH 1864 APRIL 17 TH 1868". in two lines.
Three bands marked "B"
Round barrel marked "B" or "R"

Breeck marked "R" or "B" on the left side

A gunsmith say to me that the caliber is :11X52 R Beaumont.
Any informations about this rifles, this unusual cartridge, the cartridges compatible witth this caliber, and where i can found a bullet mould for this unusual cartridge will be appreciate.

It looks like one of the Egyptian Rifles that was shipped to France in 1870-1871 during the Franco-Prussin War. The rifles had the same type of rear sight and the bayonet lug which was located on the right side of the barrel, as shown in your photo's. They were chambered in 11.43x50 R Egyptian, which is very close to the 11.3X52 R Beaumont. The bullet diameter of the Egyptian cartridge was 0.448 and the diameter of the Beaumout was 0.445. About 60,000 rifles of this type were sent to France.
