i have a reminton rb tang marked E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILON, NY U.S.A. PAT. MAY 3RD 1864 MAY 7th JUNE 11TH DEC NOV 12TH DEC 24TH 1872 DEC 31th 1872 sept 9th 1873 JAN 12TH MARCH 16TH 1874 ,20.5 barrel , one barrel band u on band, appears to be an R on the hex of the barrel where the bullet goes left side, 50-70 cal i think, this gun may have been cut down not sure looks like forearm has been filled where a push rod would have been any help would be great thanks brutus

A definite caliber measurement would help, as would z couple of photos. If this is .43 then it sounds like an Argentine carbine--or rifle made into a carbine. Ed

thanks ehull the gun i have is bigger than a 45-70 for sure im not sure .43 is bigger or not i was told that this was a buffalo gun but who knows its a nice gun in good shape thanks again brutus
