Your Gun is a typical half stock rifle made from Remington parts but not assembled by Remington. Remington was in the business o f making gun barrels and supplied gun smiths with all the parts like trigger guards. butt plates, locks(usually imported) and stock blanks etc. I believe the gun was made by William Soper, Reading, Berkshire England between 1866 & 1882 when he was in business there. He exhibited Sporting Rifles in Philadelphia in 1875We find no records of Remington ever assembling these guns in the States. We don't eva;luate guns since we can not handle them. Look these Guns up in Flayderman's guide. 8th edition, under Remington Guns. I have put the whole story of them there. Jay Huber RSA
