Rolling Block restoration

I know it's a sin to restore these old gals, but this one came to me as nothing more than a crusty rusty receiver, with parts missing. I decided to salvage her from becoming a varmint rifle, so I rebarreled to 32" heavy round barrel in .40-65, and built new wood for her.
Hopefully get to the range this weekend and shoot her, if the monsoons don't come in!

So its finally done...tis a beaut. I do have one question though. Were you torn in deciding whether to go with the round or did half/round, or octagon cross your mind.

Since I have #1 Sporters in both full octagon and half octagon, the round was a easy choice. I did have some reservations as to whether it would look correct or right, but saw a friend's original #1 1/2 that had a full round barrel, and that confirmed it for me!

Thanks Rudy! I tend to frown on full restorations, but figured I didn't have anything to lose with just an action.

You're gonna have to start over Vall! By using comparitive measurments I deduced that the gap between the forearm and action is in excess of .001 microns. Shame on you!

Hopes she shoots well and I bet it does.! If I ever luck on to an action we're gonna see a 50-70 though.
