Lee Arms Model 1879
I picked this 1879 Lee Arms magazine rifle up in an online auction. Photos were bad, but price was good and description made me take a shot. Upon arrival, I discovered that it had a Frankenstein bolt poorly fashioned from a .303 Enfield. Chucked it in the trash. Next, the magazine, which are rare ...

Rear Sight for NYS Rolling Block Carbine
Looking for photos to help me replicate sight parts for this NYS rolling block carbine. In Layman's book it is referred to as a Dexter sight. Carbines issued to Artillery and Signal corps.

Gove Conversion Rifle
I just purchased a Gemmer-style rolling block with a Gove conversion to underlever. Have not received rifle yet, but am pretty sure it is not original. Any idea who might have done the work? Seller did not know.

Re: Remington's Children
I have shot all except the ESKILSTUNA 20 gauge and the 10.25x69R. Sold former and need an expander die for latter. I also sold the Number 27.

These were also made in .45-70 for other state militias, IIRC.

Remington's Children
Just a little bored today, so I thought I would post some photos of my collection of European commercial rolling blocks.
Top is a Husqvarna Number 27 in 500/450 BPE. The Middle is a Husqvarna Number 4 in 20 gauge rifle. And bottom is a Number 1 in 12.7x44R.
Will post others, as only three photos ...

Re: Addicted to Military Rolling Blocks
At least I didn't see one of these in your collection.
Swedish 1870 Cavelry Carbine in 12.7X44R converted from rimfire. Made in 1877 by Carl Gustav.
Excuse the image quality.
It was one of these that started me down the road of rolling block addiction. Do not have it anymore, as I decided to ...

Re: One for the experts
The other point is that there are no markings whatsoever on the action or tang. I wonder if this is one of the rifles made by worker who I believe were able to purchase parts to produce guns for the target and sporting users.
This is probably the case. I have had numerous gunsmith built sporting ...

Re: Brass frame Remington rifle
Unfortunately, no. I have searched my photo files and even tried to find the old link online with no luck. But IIRC, it looked similar to yours, more or less.ehull wrote:Did you save a photo of the full length rifle?

Re: One for the experts
I have had several sporters with that slimmed down trigger guard. I think these are all very late rolling blocks, perhaps early 20th century.

Re: Brass frame Remington rifle
I do not recall the chambering. At the time, I was collecting military rolling blocks, but was unsure if this was in fact a military rifle. Just thought it was pretty and copied pics for my reference files.
