Sometime over the years the stock on my 721 was reshaped, with the comb being narrowed significantly. Basically if you look at it from the butt the stock is symmetrical from top to bottom. It was also shortened for a recoil pad, which I need to replace. That will be part of restoring the stock as it currently exists.
While that process is being done, and to preserve the original, I plan to put the action in a different stock. I know Boyd's makes several replacement stocks for the 721 but I am wanting to go with a synthetic stock. All of the ones I can find (at a price that I can afford, at least) are for the 700. I know that some fitting will be necessary but that is something I have no problem doing. Where I run into trouble is figuring out which stock to get, specifically...
Do I need a stock for the ADL or the BDL? For the life of me I can't figure out which I need! The rifle has a solid floor plate and blind magazine.
So which do I need? Help!!
