Your rifle sounds like a NRA. Id so, it will be so stamped on the barrel. The 121S is not common, but not extremely rare. In my trips on the research team at the factory I have seen any production numbers for the 1221S. My guess is that there were more than 500...

All Rem material I have seen say the NRA came with the windage adjustable Lyman front sight, but...I have seen so many with the same non-windage adjustable front sight I have to believe some came from the factory that way. I don't have one handy but it seems like it was a Lyman #17 ??? Someone help me...
