I have a Remington Mdl 30 rifle, cal 30-06 with a side mount plate on it......but no rings and scope.
Searching all the old mfgs. I can find no plate like this one. I would assume that it was done at the factory?? I would really like to put an older scomp (K-3) on it but have no idea how to locate rings......I would even make a set if I knew what they were supposed to look like.
Saw one grainy photo of a Weaver side mount from that era that seemed to resemble it.
Any info. would be greatly appreciated..
the plate goes straight up from the side and has a narrow dove tail, split length ways and a cone shaped indent in the middle...
Thanks,
Jaboman

Re: MODEL 30 SIDE MOUNT???
I believe you are describing a Noske mount. Go to ebay and search for Noske, under sporting goods, and it will take you to a Cornell Publications ad, or, go to their web site. They deal in repro gun catalogs, plus, they're great folks to deal with.
