Remington Model 121

I just bought a model 121 and it has a WJ for the month and year made but there is 2 Js in the date period one for 1940, and one for 1962. So how do I know the right year of manufacture? The serial number is 39942 if that helps.

Well you can eliminate the 1962 date because they were dicontinued in 1954. With your serial number though it should be in the 1940 range.
