Remington Model 12A 22 rifle. How do you tell by the serial number what the date of manufacture is?
I have one with the Serial # of 696193.

I found the letters W and U which seems to indicate August, 1927. This gun is in really good condition and has been siiting in a closet for the last 40 years here in Tucson, Az. No humidity, so no rusting.
