Remington's History reference states that the Model 31 pump was discontinued in '49, and the 870 Wingmaster was introduced in '51. Can anyone fill me in on Remington's pump shotgun offerings from '49 to '51?
Many Thanks

Re: 28 gauge in 11-48
Thanks, Virginian. A friend of mine, a life long Remington fan, just called and told me that Remington started making the 11-48 in 28 gauge in 1952, and the 410 in '54. Think he got the info from a Gun Digest reference.
He also suggested that there was a flaw in the 11-48 design which resulted in ...

28 gauge in 11-48
Remington.com states that Remington made 28 gauge single shot guns over a century ago (Model 1893 and Model 9 (1902), but their first 28 gauge repeater appears to be the Model 11-48. Does anyone know what year they introduced 28 gauge in that model ? Anyone know any specifics about the gun ? An ...

1148 frame sizes
I'm interested in knowing whether Remington used more than one frame size for the various 1148 gauge guns. I'm specifically interested in the 16 gauge guns. Remington.com states that the 1148 model (mechanically identical to the model 11/Sportsman?) was lighter in weight than comparable Model 11's ...

Re: Remington Model 11 vs. Browning A-5
Thanks, Researcher: Appreciate your filling in those useful historical observations. If you have any ads from the era, would love to have you post some when you return to the office. No wonder I find so few 20 gauge guns. Did FN make a gun comperable to the three shot Sportsman, or was this a market ...

Remington Model 11 vs. Browning A-5
Question for Researcher: What were the most significant differences between the Remington Product and the Browning FN product ? Just purchased a 1941 Model 11 (4+1) with 26 inch IC plain barrel made 3 months before Pearl Harbor. The frame has some mottling, and the stock is all original but with a ...

Sixteen gauge Frame Size used in making Model 31 Shotguns
I'm new to the forum, and have a 16 gauge Model 31 coming from a gunbroker.com dealer. Does anyone know if Remington made a special frame size for their 16 gauge guns in this model ? I'm told they used the 12 gauge frame for the 870. I believe Winchester used a 16 gauge frame for the Model 12, as ...
